IELTS test format
IELTS tests four skills. Listening, Reading and Writing are taken on the same day, one after another. Speaking is a face-to-face interview with an examiner and may be on the same day or within a few days of the written test.

Which IELTS do you need?
- IELTS Academic: for bachelor's, master's and most diploma admissions abroad.
- IELTS General Training: mainly for work and migration, not university admission.
- IELTS for UKVI: needed for some UK visas and courses below degree level, such as foundation or pre-sessional English. Your university will tell you if it applies.
- Computer-delivered IELTS gives results within a few days; paper-based results take longer. Both are the same test and scored the same way.

What is the IELTS fee in Nepal?
The test fee is set by the official test providers, British Council and IDP, and changes from time to time. Check the current fee on their Nepal websites when you book. Ask us for our current class fees.
How long does IELTS preparation take?
Most students need 4 to 8 weeks of regular classes. Students starting from a lower level, or aiming for 7.0 and above, may need longer.
What IELTS score do I need to study in Ireland?
Most Irish universities ask for IELTS 6.0 to 6.5 overall, with no band below 5.5 or 6.0. Some courses, such as health and law, ask for more. Your offer letter states the exact requirement.
Should I take computer or paper IELTS?
Both are the same test and scored the same way. Computer IELTS gives faster results and more test dates, which helps when deadlines are close. Choose the format you are more comfortable typing or writing in.
How long is an IELTS score valid?
IELTS results are generally accepted for two years from the test date by universities and immigration authorities.
