Start with your budget, academic record, career goal and whether you want to work or settle after study. Ireland suits students who want a one-year master’s and European work experience; India suits those who want affordable degrees close to home with no visa. Australia, the UK, Canada, the USA, New Zealand and Europe each have different costs, work rights and visa rules.
A good counsellor will compare options honestly rather than push one country. Bring your transcripts, test scores (if any) and a rough budget to your first meeting.
Think about the course before the country. A course that matches your previous study and career plan is easier to justify in your Statement of Purpose and at a visa interview than a random switch of subject. If you have a study gap, gather evidence of what you did (work, training or family responsibilities) so you can explain it clearly.
