Student visa document checklist

• Valid passport and passport-size photos.
• Offer letter or confirmation of enrolment from the institution (for example CAS for the UK, CoE for Australia, I-20 for the USA).
• Academic documents: SEE, +2 and bachelor's transcripts, character certificates and provisional or final certificates.
• English test result: IELTS, PTE, TOEFL or Duolingo as accepted by the institution and visa authority.
• Statement of purpose or genuine student statement explaining your course choice, career plan and ties to Nepal.
• Study gap evidence if applicable: work experience letters, salary slips or training certificates.
• Health insurance and medical examination where required.

Financial and sponsor documents

Embassies look for funds that are genuine and traceable. Sudden large deposits without a clear source are a common reason for refusal, so plan your finances early.

• Bank balance certificate and statement showing the required funds, held for the period the embassy expects.
• Education loan sanction letter, if part of the funds come from a loan.
• Chartered accountant (CA) valuation report of the sponsor's property and income.
• Income source documents: salary certificates, rental agreements, business registration and tax records, or agricultural income certificate from the ward office.
• Tax clearance certificates for the sponsor's income.
• Relationship verification certificate from the ward office, plus birth certificate, linking you to your sponsors.

No Objection Certificate (NOC)

Nepalese students going abroad for study generally need a No Objection Certificate from Nepal's Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. It is applied for online after you receive an offer letter and is used by banks to release foreign exchange for tuition and living costs. Requirements and the online process are updated from time to time, and rules for study in India can differ, so we confirm the current procedure with you before you apply.

Country notes

• Ireland: long-stay study visa (Stamp 2 on arrival). Apply online through AVATS, then submit documents; applications from Nepal are handled by the Embassy of Ireland in New Delhi. You need an ILEP-listed course, fees paid, at least €10,000 per year for living costs and private medical insurance.
• India: Nepali citizens do not need a visa to study in India. You still need admission, academic documents and your citizenship certificate or passport.
• United Kingdom: CAS from the university, maintenance funds held for the required period and possibly a credibility interview.
• Australia: Confirmation of Enrolment, Genuine Student requirement, financial capacity and Overseas Student Health Cover.
• Canada: letter of acceptance, provincial attestation letter where required, and proof of funds.
• USA: I-20, SEVIS fee payment and an F-1 visa interview at the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu.
